About Project

Project BLUR, a 10,000 sq.ft. luxury vacation villa set within the quiet farmland of Karamadai, Tamil Nadu, is envisioned as an immersive retreat where architecture dissolves into landscape, blurring the lines between built and unbuilt with minimal intervention, expansive glazing, and staggered volumes that frame nature at every turn. Positioned along a north–south axis to reduce heat gain and capture cross breezes, the home responds directly to its valley setting, where sweeping south and west views shaped a linear massing strategy informed by detailed sun studies. Stacked and shifted cubes carve terraces, shaded decks, and double-height interiors, creating a layered outdoor living experience—quiet balconies for contemplation and elevated terraces for social gatherings. Organised into three experiential zones—Relax, Rest, Retreat—the villa seamlessly transitions from the high-energy spa, plunge pool, home theater, and terrace lounge to the more intimate bedroom suites and finally to the serene living, dining, pooja, and workspaces that open into landscaped lawns. The design is anchored by sculptural entry sequences, water bodies, and curated focal elements, while generous glazing and jalis balance openness, privacy, and climate responsiveness. Inside, white marble, natural wood, and muted black tones maintain a quiet elegance, complemented by concrete planes, glass walls, stone decks, and soft green edges outdoors, allowing the home to settle effortlessly into its agricultural context. With panoramic views framed from every room and walk-out decks that extend daily life into nature, Project BLUR becomes more than a residence—it is a sanctuary for a family of four, a calm yet luxurious retreat shaped by light, proportion, and the ever-changing rhythms of the valley it inhabits.
