This project is a renovation of a condominium unit with an area of approximately 170 square meters located in Racecourse, a posh neighbourhood of Coimbatore. The client who had been the resident of the unit for 5+ years, they needed a renovation to accommodate their lifestyle needs and wants. The Apartment was a 15-year-old building which demanded an extensive redo of all HVAC, Plumbing, Electricals, Tiling, Doors, and Windows from scratch along with some civil alterations to make rooms bigger. THE DESIGN We aimed for a Contemporary Interior Design with a warmth of a home yet in consideration with the everyday activities of the residents using the spaces dynamically throughout the day. We have structured the Plan such that living and dining has become one combined space, making the space feel bigger but also gives some privacy through the metal partition. Kitchen and store room have been merged and Utility wall was demolished to make the kitchen spacious enhancing the usability. MATERIAL&FINISH The material palette has neutral greys and whites keeping the interference minimal, Warm lighting and Sophisticated finishes of Marble, Glass, Quartz, and Aluminium exude luxury. The Private rooms feature various finishes and textures like Concrete wall panels, Marble, and Paint finishes in different rooms were incorporated into the spaces seamlessly and blended to give a contemporary and timeless design. The marble finish tile enhances the space and brings the whole design in a plate seamlessly. THE ART The Pitchwai Artwork was positioned in such a way that it is part of the living and dining and it was hand painted with vibrant colours giving a splash of life to the area. THE BREAK The balcony wall is cladded with concrete finish panels giving a rustic and earthy vibe a break from the interior design theme for the clients to unwind. The Master private room features concrete wall panels and teak wood finish veneer bay window and plain ceiling. The hanging light elegantly describes the texture and shape of the cladding in the evening. The glass Wardrobes were used to enhance the space and also make it spacious because of the smaller room size, also shutters finished in tile were used to give a break from the veneer. The She rooms sports a colourful tone in right proportions to give the energy and vibrance of an ideal space for a child eager to explore and grow. MDF fluted panels and NEON signages on the bed back wall was designed to be the inspiration wall for the kid. The room for the teenager encompasses a contemporary design with a wall of shelves to store the collectibles and toys from his childhood as a memory. The spaces were designed such that it caters to all the activities of the user including a Work table, a reading zone, Piano play area.
